How do Sex and Love Relate

Sex and love.............the topic which is probably the most popular one on most peoples minds. There is a definite separation between the two, but that there doesn’t have to be. Sometimes we just want to be physical, maybe we are protecting something more intimate and vulnerable within us. But I’ve been there before and i know that sometimes, you just wanna be physical. But the truth is, there is such a huge energy exchange when you have sex with someone. By nature, having sex is actually a spiritual and emotional event..........whether we are closed off to that, or not. It is a sacred act, as much as our modern world tries to portray it as something frivolous.

And where does love come in? Well i think love comes in when you are willing to be "open" and experience that spiritual component. To me, that is where sex and love meet. Because i can love someone, care for them, care about their well-being, enjoy their presence in my life.........and then if I have sex with them, it takes things to a deeper (no pun intended) level. That’s just my take on it. Whether it was a one time thing or a long term relationship.......it seems that sex and love take 2 people to a very sacred place where we get to experience this profound stuff. It’s the meat and potatoes of being a human being, in my opinion. And that’s exactly because of how not easy it is to take the shroud off of your heart and be open and be willing to surrender to love and to be vulnerable.........

How do Sex and Love Relate? Are you driven by a desire for sex or a desire for love?
Do you want to have a solid relationship? Are you looking for Love, are you ready for it? Is your Heart still Heals from past connections? Do you Fear it?
These questions have different answers and it simply depends on the time they are given to us.
During that period of time, when we're not ready for Love to come our way and touch our Soul we still have our physical desires/needs/wants so we act to achieve what we can and guard the part which is not ready to be touched yet.
In a way baring our flesh and touch someone else's while not letting our spirit be engaged in the process, is the less intimate act we can offer, we're naked but our Heart is not, it's still wrapped with clothes, wearing a shield and "protects" us.
That's when Love and Sex don't meet, that's when we're not trully there, when we offer what we can and wish for the days we will be able to offer more.
When Love and Sex do meet that's when Magic happends, we are fully there, aware of that physical gift and letting it touch our Heart as well, we are connected by being connected to ourselves first.
